Tony from Nairobi

We recently had the opportunity to host a special guest at our home.

It was Tony from Nairobi. He is a missionary and a musician as well.

You should listen to his songs! They are really nice!

A couple of years ago he released his first album and is planing to record another one in the near future, and for that reason he needed some new portrait photos of himself.

Well, he was my first male client infront of my lens and I was kind of nervous;)

I wasn´t so confident in my abbility to “pose” a man and to make him feel comfortable infront of the lens at the same time.

But after a few “warm – up” shots, I was in my element and forgot time and temperature.

Sorry Tony, totally forgot that you aren´t used to our cold weather;)hope you didn´t catch a cold after that shoot!?

So here we go….. you can also read his blogpost on his experience from the photoshoot here .

Enjoy!

Do you remember the question;) hehehe

My first delivery slideshow

I am so so happy to be able to publish this beautiful and marvellous moments of a delivery from last year!

Words can´t express what it means to give birth to a little tiny creation, that grew up 9 month in your stomach close to your heart.

Words can´t express the emotions and feelings you are going through while holding your own sweet baby in your arms for the very first time.

I can´t explain how special this was to me and how much I enjoyed capturing the different moments and emotions.

Enjoy the slideshow ♥

Please wait a few seconds, slideshow is loading…….

A&I │ destination wedding in kenya { part two }

This is the second half of  Alan & Irene´s amazing wedding in kenya. If you haven´t seen part one, you definately should see it!

As I mentioned in the first part, kenyans love dancing! And if you attend a wedding you cant just sit and watch you will be pulled off from your chair to join the crowd dancing and celebrating the couple.

Alan & Irene had a special guest, DK, who composed the Furi Furi song together with Jimmy Gait, at their wedding.

It was awsome to watch the bridal party dance to song, DK was singing.

Listen to the music here as you watch the pictures, you will enjoy it;)

This is the traditional way of dancing, the couple is infront followed by the guests.This is the Furi Furi dance….DKsweet GrandmaThe couple is receiving gifts.This is Moni, a lovely lady who was responsible for the delicous food!

A&I │ destination wedding in kenya { part one }

Finally i got some time to blog about the amazing wedding from Irene & Alan.

It was a typical hot day in january in Nairobi. The night before the wedding I (Tanja) could not sleep, being excited and nervous at the same time.

Mainly, as it was our first destination wedding and secondly it reminded me of our own wedding, which we celebrated in kenya two years ago.

We love african weddings, they are full of joy, fun, laughter and a lot of dancingI don’t know how to dance, but i love watching kenyans dancing! At weddings you see everybody dancing, beginning from a small kid up to the granny, watch yourself and enjoy.

We wanna say a big asante sana (in swahili) to Irene & Alan for giving us the opportunity to share this big and important day with you. It was an honor for us to shoot your wedding day!

I love your shoes Irene ♥Stunning Bride ♥Handsome Groom!

Here we go, the women arrived to celebrate the bride traditionally and carry her along to the car.

Love this traditon, it is so much fun and gives you a special feeling, that you can´t describe unless you have been there.These are the cars that escort the bride. Birde & Dad are in the first one.Arrival at the venue…Can you feel the atmosphere? These guys are dancing to welcome the bride.Thanks to the Pastor for the wonderful sermon, you were a blessing!Well, i dont know what the pastor said, but seems like the bride was shocked;)The parents of the bride are officially giving her daughter to the groom and exchanging blessings.

Kenyans have a lot of beautiful traditions.
