Back in one of our favorite places in the world, the charming town of Giverny in France, Katelyn of ModFete and I dreamed up a simple, lush, intimate, and stunning cottage wedding. Our inspiration came from the beautiful village of course, but also the history as Claude Monet lived and painted here which meant we envisioned the most romantic florals you could imagine.
A crisp palette of whites, light peach, blush, and natural greens kept our vision on track. Can you believe these centerpieces and bouquets have foraged blooms from around this cottage in them? Future brides: texture in your florals can come from anywhere, even your surroundings! In order to bring a touch of glamour, we dressed up our bride with some stunning Sibo Designs accessories and a sweet, feminine gown from Plume Paris. Although beautiful places like this sweet cottage rarely need any extra decor, we loved adding the sophistication of a formal tablescape, complete with Silk and Willow table runners and ribbon.
Giverny is one of the most captivating little villages and we adored roaming around this sweet cottage!
Words from ModFete: “We wanted this shoot to embody the rustic elegance that we found in the historic cottage garden where this took place. I was inspired by soft French blues and the warm peach tones in seasonal fruit and flowers. The table linens, foraged floral and silk ribbon I used were a complement to the organic nature of our surroundings, while the tableware, wardrobe and calligraphy gave a nod to Parisian sophistication. The cottage provided a beautiful backdrop for the table which we envisioned to be the perfect setting for an intimate garden celebration.”
